Using Apple’s CloudKit, our entire platform is built around privacy by design, meaning your data is protected by the architecture itself, not just a policy.
Your data is kept safe through encryption, de-identification, user controls, and storing identifying information and personal health information in separate databases. Researchers analyze study data using a study ID, not your name or contact information.

We will conduct a Delphi consensus study to determine which measures are most clinically meaningful and feasible for inclusion. We are seeking clinicians and researchers across neurology, sleep, cardiology, nutrition and health behaviours, psychological health, healthy aging, and chronic care to help us determine the optimal baseline assessment protocol for our longitudinal digital health study. Participation involves 2–3 short survey rounds, each no more than 15–30 minutes, distributed several weeks apart.
To participate in the Delphi study, fill out our contact form.

We chose to build Foundations on iPhone and Apple Watch because they provide one of the most advanced and privacy-focused health research ecosystems available. Through Apple's HealthKit, ResearchKit, and related frameworks, participants can securely contribute dozens of health and behavioral measurements collected during everyday life, including activity, sleep, cardiovascular metrics, mobility, environmental exposures, and more.
Apple's privacy architecture gives participants granular control over what data they share, while the widespread adoption of these devices enables large-scale, long-term research that would be difficult or impossible to conduct in traditional clinical settings.

Foundations is designed to include people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and health conditions. We welcome both healthy individuals and those living with chronic or acute medical conditions, because understanding health requires studying the full spectrum of human experience.
Participation is flexible and designed to fit into daily life. At a minimum, participants complete a baseline assessment and allow passive data collection through their devices. Optional research modules provide opportunities for deeper participation in areas such as neurology, cardiology, sleep, mental health, and other fields. Participants may join multiple research modules, pause participation, or withdraw at any time.
Currently, participation requires an iPhone, and some research activities may require an Apple Watch.
